Did you ever consider that your YouTube marketing campaign could use a little … push? I mean some extra features that would make your viewers want to see more of your videos, or a tool to help you build a brand that would be recognizable from miles apart – something like that.
YouTube have thought that we might like (or love) such features and this is why they have come up with two new tools that we can use to promote our brands online:
- Including your business’ logo in the video
- Sending viewers to your other videos, or to videos that you want to promote.
I am guessing that there are some very creative and innovative people out there who will know exactly how to leverage these tools to their advantage!
Until then, let me show you how you can use these amazing new updates from YouTube:
1. Personalize Your Video – Add A Logo!
What you need to do is go to this link – you will automatically be signed in with your account from where you can personalize your videos.

Go to Feature Your Channel section.
Once you’re there, you can customize your logo: choose a representative picture for your business (you logo, for example) and upload it to YouTube.
But there is a catch: the picture is better to be .jpeg AND it doesn’t have to exceed 800×800 in dimension.
Select, upload and then save.
You can put your logo in any of the video’s corners apart from the bottom-right one as that is reserved for the YouTube logo.
There are some other interesting options there, such as the possibility to choose the Display Time – how long you want to logo to stay on top of the video.
2. Promote Your Offers – Add A Thumbnail!
Yes, YouTube has just turned into an amazing advertisement tool with the help of which you can now promote your other videos that you have in your account or in someone else’s account. In a nutshell, you can advertise in your video whatever other video you want or like.
For example, let’s say you made a video in which you are talking about ways to outsource, but you also have a friend with whom you collaborated in the making of another video which is related to the topic. Now you can link these two by adding a thumbnail which leads to your friend’s video. The same goes for when you have an offer and want to let the world know about it, or for when you simply want to keep people on your profile for longer.
So how can you do that?
On the YouTube Invideo Programming page search for the blue ‘Feature a Video’ button:
Once you found it, you can choose a video from the channel you’re in or you can simply copy and paste the URL of another video and then click the Save button.
Again, the same options appear: the place where you want your thumbnail to go, the display time and the duration.
The only drawback that I see with these thumbnails is that they are automatically added to ALL the videos you have in your channel. Nonetheless, this is a fantastic new innovation that YouTube has given to all internet marketers and I’m pretty sure that soon people are going to come up with a lot of crazy and brilliant ideas on what they can do with them in terms of online brand building & promotion.
