Hi, my name is Fiona Soutter from Super Savvy Business with this week’s SEO and Business News Update.
I’m here in Brisbane today with a lovely group of people; we’re at the Ultimate Web Blueprint and we have been talking about content marketing. What I’m actually doing is going through the five phases of developing a strong content marketing strategy.
Now the first phase I’d like to share with you right now is all about coming up with ideas for your content. And there are so many different ways that you can get your ideas, and I know that was a stumbling block for me when I first started online.
Here’s a few examples:
What you can do is go to Google’s Keyword Tool and look for high search keywords.
You can also subscribe to the industry leaders in your marketplace and subscribe to their RSS feeds, and have a look at what sort of content they’re talking about.
The whole idea is that you want to become a market leader in your niche and be one of the first people to speak about anything “news” in your industry.
You can hang out in forums as well, see what your target market are actually talking about, and what their biggest problems, concerns and frustrations are.
Customer feedback is another really good idea.
Now, I did mention a little while ago that keyword research is a great way to come up with ideas, but a lot of people don’t really understand how to do keyword research properly.
I was speaking to a friend and colleague of mine the other day, his name is Brent Hodgson, and Brent was one of the creators of Market Samurai, which is one of the leading keyword research tools in the world.
And Brent announced to me that he’s got a new product he’s about to launch which will actually take that pain away from people. He has a team of highly trained professionals that are going to be able to put together a full report for you and your business as to which keywords you should be targeting.
I was just blown away and really excited when he told me about this because I know that even for me, someone who understands keyword research, it is quite a long and laborious task to do.
So I’m really excited about this new project of Brent’s and I will look forward to telling you more as it goes public.
In the meantime, if you’re wanting to come up with ideas for your website content, try some of the ideas that I just spoke about – and there are plenty more.
